The Trukai Fun Run Scholarship, a partnership between NFFE and the popular Trukai Fun Run, transforms community participation into educational opportunities. Through a lucky draw, enthusiastic runners can win scholarships, blending health, unity, and national pride with access to education. Each year, NFFE proudly sponsors the Trukai Fun Run by purchasing T-shirts in bulk and distributing them to schools across the country, ensuring wider community participation. As one of the highest bidders annually, NFFE’s support not only raises crucial funds for the event but also extends the opportunity for many young Papua New Guineans to take part.

Why This Scholarship Matters

At NFFE, we believe education is the foundation of opportunity. Yet, many young Papua New Guineans face financial barriers to further study. The Trukai Fun Run, already a unifying national event, now also provides a pathway to education—turning a joyful community celebration into a chance to transform lives.

How It Works

Every year, NFFE sponsors a special scholarship draw for participants of the Trukai Fun Run. Here’s how it works:

Participation
Runners or walkers of all ages take part in the annual Trukai Fun Run by purchasing official merchandise or registering through schools and organizations.
Automatic Entry
Participants who meet scholarship eligibility criteria are automatically entered into a lucky draw managed with transparency and integrity.
Winner Selection
Five (5) winners are randomly selected as scholarship recipients, with names announced publicly after the event.
Scholarship Awarded
Winners receive tuition sponsorship to study at IBS College of TVET in selected Certificate Programs.

What the Scholarship Covers

The Trukai Fun Run Scholarship is designed to support participants ready to begin their journey in higher education but lacking financial means.

Programs Offered:

Certificate Level 3 and 4 Programs at IBS College of TVET

Covered Costs:

Full or partial tuition fee sponsorship depending on program and award
Academic guidance and enrolment support

Note: Accommodation, textbooks, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the student.

Who Can Win

The Trukai Fun Run Scholarship is open to:

Grade 12 school leavers and recent graduates
Community participants aged 17 and above
First-time or continuing students who have not yet enrolled due to financial reasons

Priority is given to participants who demonstrate a genuine interest in learning and meet the entry requirements for IBS College of TVET programs.
