Nadesalingam Foundation for Education (NFFE) – Empowering Education, Transforming Lives

Donations for Schools

Empowering Classrooms Across Papua New Guinea Through Meaningful Giving

Overview

The Donations for Schools initiative by the Nadesalingam Foundation for Education (NFFE) is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the right tools to learn and thrive. In many parts of Papua New Guinea, schools face serious shortages of basic educational resources—from books and stationery to furniture and teaching aids.

Why This Project Matters

This project addresses a critical need by creating opportunities that can transform lives and communities. It seeks to break barriers, reduce inequality, and foster long-term growth by providing access to resources, skills, and opportunities that would otherwise remain out of reach.

What We Donate

The program provides essential educational resources, including books, stationery, teaching aids, and library materials to underserved schools. Support also extends to technical equipment like computers, printers, and networking tools, as well as occasional furniture and infrastructure upgrades. Donations are guided by assessed needs in consultation with school leaders and education offices.

Where We Work

Our school donation efforts span both urban settlements and rural districts, particularly those with historically limited access to government resources. Some of the regions we’ve supported include:

  • Central and Gulf Provinces
  • Remote Highlands communities
  • Schools on outer islands such as Bougainville and Manus
  • Settlement schools in Port Moresby and Lae

We prioritize schools with large student populations, high performance with minimal support, or areas affected by social, economic, or environmental challenges.

How the Process Works

  1. Needs Assessment
We consult directly with school principals, boards, and teachers to identify specific resource gaps.
  2. Sourcing & Logistics
Items are procured locally or via partners and coordinated for safe and timely delivery.
  3. Community Involvement
Local leaders, parents, and students are invited to participate in handover ceremonies to foster ownership and sustainability.
  4. Impact Monitoring
We follow up with recipient schools to evaluate the use and impact of donated materials and collect feedback for future initiatives.
